NEOLITHIC IN LA SAFOR. WHERE DID THEY LIVE?
Although in the Neolithic settlements in the open air are already documented, most sites from this period found and researched in La Sabor and in the resto f the valentian territory belong to the caves habitat. However, this impression might be more apparent than real, due to the difficulties that the localization of new settlements in areas with no mountains imply. The remains that show the presence of a greater occupation in the plain might have disappeared or still remain hideen due to anthropic and natural actions that have changed the landscape and the historic subsoil in the county during the last 7.000 years.
The finding of areas of silos excavated on the ground, states the existance of settlements on plains. Their cultural and chronological belonging could go back to the final neolithic.

NEOLITHIC IN LA SAFOR: HOW THEY LIVED?:
Subsistence:
Although humans started their way towards sedentary life, they still live in caves, near the lands where they grew several wheat and barley species.
The farming activity was accompanied by sheep, goats, oxes grazing and pigs growing.
Their nourishing was completed, although in a secondary way, with the hunting of wild animals such as deers, wild goats, roe deers, wild boards, aurochs and rabbits.
Fishing, already documented in the final phases of the Paleolithic, is very little represented in La Safor sites, although this would mean, together with the practising of harvesting of wild fruits, roots, eggs and honey, a real support source in the domestic economy.
